One of the most recognizable scenes in New England, Motif No. 1 in Rockport, Massachusetts has inspired generations of artists. In this painting, the historic red fishing shack glows against the cool blues of harbor water and sky, with reflections dancing across the surface and a small boat gently resting nearby.
Painted with expressive brushwork and vibrant color, the piece captures both the charm of the working harbor and the feeling of a quiet coastal morning. Inspired by a photograph taken by me in Rockport, the painting reflects a personal connection to a place that holds deep memories and timeless beauty.
